23 Jan 2017 - IMT is focusing on the applications of VR/AR in healthcare in the upcoming weeks.
With a panel of pioneers in the field, we are diving into the current and future applications of VR/AR in healthcare.
In the first of our events on January 26th, we'll focus on the current uses of VR/AR with 3 speakers doing great work in the field. Steve Dann is the co-founder of Amplified Robot, and Medical Realities, the company behind Dr Shafi Ahmed's VR live-surgery, watched by thousands of students around the world. We'll also have Lucia Valmaggia, who heads up the VR Psychology Research Group at King's College, London. And Kumar Jacob, CEO of Mindwave Ventures and focused on VR for OCD therapy. Our second event on February 2nd will be a hands on Master Class with Dr Keith Grimes, a NHS's GP that has been using VR to treat his patients in primary care. He is also an active member of the UK's digital health landscape. During the class, Dr Grimes will share his and his patients' experience using VR for wound care treatment, the opportunities and barriers he faces using the technology in the NHS, and the clinical trials he's involved in.
